DIY | fold over carrier




 Last week I dropped my phone and basically cracked the entire screen. As the phone fell to the ground in that split second I thought of how easy it would have been if I had either put the phone in my pocket or put it in a carry all. As we all know, hindsight is 50/50 so, with the fabric I had left over from my previous shopper bag DIY I decided to make a small catch all bag. 















 
Materials:
_ fabric
_ grommet (4)
_ scissors (or hole punch)
_ cord
_ hardware (spacer, washer, or etc.) (2)
_ needle & thread
_ hammer

1. cut out and sew together two rectangles of your chosen fabric 
2. cut two holes (or hole punch) on both sides of the fabric
3. install grommets  with hammer and thread the cord through the (4) holes
4. thread a spacer or washer, to secure the ends.  Depending on the hardware glue or sew the hardware

Now, I am off to replace my sad broken phone.

    Karina, I am not sure what it is called but it basically just looks like really thin insulation.

    Really love how the hand strap works. You could do this in with lots of fabrics and change up the cord - but I really like the silver. I think my readers would really like this bag and I'm posting a photo and link back to your site.

      It would of been much more attractive it I had used a leather strap (1"-2") instead of the cord but that was the only material I had available at the time. I have another leather bag in mind coming soon.

      It's original function is not a skirt. I have just fold and tied it in this way to wear as a skirt because I liked the shine of the material.

      Oh there is a grave confusion around here. I live no where near the Netherlands (only in my dreams). I am learning Dutch to move to Holland eventually and to read some writings/ design journals from some of my favorite Dutch architects/designers.

    As for shopping in my closet...be my guest. I try selling stuff through ebay and consignmnet stores. As for the rest or things that don't sell I just give it to my friends who pass by. Recently, I have been making the majority of my clothes, so I just spend all my extra funds on shoes and bags. I know terrible.

    Now, Pedro of darkwingscity....I absolutely love him. Seriously, I cant get enough of his collection. He has his new collection actually coming soon so I can't wait to see.
